Job Description Senior engineering position to design solutions, plan growth, and successfully facilitate engineering projects within the Group. Provide on-site engineering design, pre-sales support, deployment and day-to-day operations / trouble resolution for Company's managed and self-maintained commercial customers. Design telecommunications solutions to meet client needs: Develop detailed network and infrastructure design packages Develop resource requirements to include labour, materials and equipment Develop Bill of Materials and oversee procurement Develop installation packages, oversee project execution, and provide technical oversight Oversee document development and turnover to client Lead teams in the design and installation of 2-way Radio Systems, SONET/Multiplex transport networks, Microwave Networks, IP Telephony Networks, Router and Switch Networks, ISP & OSP cabling, and other custom Systems. Provide technical leadership and support to other internal and external groups Work closely with operational support staff, project groups, engineering, sales teams, and program managers to ensure proposed and implemented solutions meet customer requirements and are operated in such a manner to meet the agreed level of service. Evaluate existing systems for performance and propose alternatives that increase efficiency for our clients. Assist internal operational groups in solving/remediating existing problems. Research and deploy fixes/patches. Skills & Experience Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to lead other engineers on large group projects Attention to detail to ensure all system engineering, codes, standards, and regulatory aspects are addressed. Provide engineering oversight on project(s) from inception to customer acceptance and final turn-over Ability to serve as a technical expert in a particular discipline or disciplines within the Company Creative and innovative problem solver. Ability to effectively identify and resolve technical problems to include impact on schedule and cost Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage multiple projects and priorities Self-directed and motivated / cooperative team player Ability to track, prioritize, and work assignments with changing priorities The proven ability to lead complex projects with little supervision Candidates must be thoroughly familiar the architecture and implementation of modern telecommunications networks with specific knowledge of computer based design tools and test equipment. Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Network Communications, Information Services or equivalent related experience. Qualifying experience is generally counted as "two for one" years, compared to years of education. Registration as a Professional Engineer, BICSI RCDD, and/or advanced Cisco certification (CCNP / CCDP / CCVP / CCIE). This is a contract position. The rate for this position is negotiable.
