Job Title: Group IT Expert

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities:

• Develop an IT process strategy and for long-term planning of the groups technical portfolio.
• Drive the formulation of the Information Technology strategy and set up of the IT Infrastructure fit for the various companies within the Group and pro-actively identifying solutions to optimise performance for all users.
• Develop and maintain the group wide project management methodology.
• Consult with appropriate business area strategists in the development of their strategies and ensure processes are designed with sufficient flexibility to support all business plans.
• Act as a change agent ensuring the IT infrastructure is able to support group and business unit direction.
• Direct, control and motivate the IT team members; accountable for the management, mentoring and career development of all IT staff.
• Negotiate service level agreements with both internal and external stakeholders, service providers and monitor service delivery to ensure the agreed targets and standards are met.
• Primary management of the Business Areas data in order to support consolidated reporting information, both financial and non-financial, as well as integration with key systems, customers, and other service providers.
• Develop an annual business plan and operating budget for the IT department and monitor the implementation to ensure that the financial targets are met.
• Be responsible for the management of IT and systems risks and ensure maximum system uptime.
• Communicate direction clearly with Business and/or company leaders and use of strategy as a road map for systems to be used for each business initiative.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Degree in Business, Marketing or Information Technology required. Post graduate qualification desirable.
• Relevant Professional Certification and membership of recognized IT institutes is required.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience as an Information Technology professional with at least 5 years proven senior IT Management experience.
• Experience as an outstanding IT exponent, an all-rounder with a strong technical background and a record of delivering first class IT solutions in a large scale business.
• A proven track record of driving and defining complex IT strategy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sound business practices, data stewardship, business analysis, and operations management.
• IT Budgetary experience required.
• Experience of managing multiple IT disciplines i.e. software development, technical support, systems architecture etc.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in developing and maintaining vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish business objectives. 
• Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills required. 
• Significant experience in Africa is required.
