Responsibilities
- Deliver four classes of teacher-training course in a period of four weeks
- Follow Trainer’s Guide in the delivery of said course
- Modify and revise course content as needed, in collaboration with other trainers, in order to best meet the needs of participants
- Ensure sound instructional use of Participant Manual during training
- Model sound teaching strategies, as described in the Trainer’s Guide, and ensure said strategies are practiced by participant teachers, in a collaborative setting
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience
- Strong teaching skills in the respective subject
- Self-motivation, initiative and productivity
- A results oriented approach with the ability to take responsibility
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines
- Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of word processing (Word) and web conferencing software
- Experience in adult learning an asset
- Experience in the development of higher order competencies
- International development experience, and/or experience working with educators in development settings
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related subject
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
