Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant academic positions in the University of Calabar.

Pharmaceutical Sciences
Positions/Qualification
1.) Graduate Assistant:
A candidate must have a good Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, not lower than a good Second Class Upper.
The candidate must have registered as a Pharmacist and must provide evidence of participation in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.

2.) Assistant Lecturer:
A candidate must have a good Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy plus registration as Pharmacist and NYSC certificate.
Evidence of research publications is also required.
NB. The extra one year internship programme for the Pharmacy graduate is taken into consideration.

3.) Lecturer II:
Candidate should possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
plus a Master’s degree or FPG Pharm (Fellowship of West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacists) or Pharm.D, plus registration as a Pharmacist, and NYSC discharge certificate or a good Bachelor and Master’s degree in any relevant science discipline, plus some referred journal publications.

4.) Lecturer I:
Candidate should possess a good Bachelor’s Degree Plus a Ph.D in any relevant science discipline.
Also, a Lecturer II with a minimum of three years experience in that capacity can be considered. Such a candidate should also show evidence of research.

5.) Senior Lecturer:
Same qualifications as Lecturer I plus a minimum of 3 years experience as Lecturer I.
Candidate must also show demonstrable ability in research and should possess a good number of referred journal publications.

6.) Professor:
Same qualification as Senior Lecturer.
In addition, Candidate should normally possess Ph.D degree with teaching and research experience.
Associate Professor/Readers may be promoted to the rank of Professor after at least three years as Associate Professor/Reader.
Such a candidate should possess an ability to provide a strong academic leadership coupled with some administrative responsibilities in addition to a considerable number of referred journal publications.
Furthermore, the publications of such candidate should be externally assessed.

Faculty of Engineering
Department of Civil Engineering

Positions/Qualification

1.) Graduate Assistant:
An applicant must have a good degree in Civil Engineering (not lower than Second Class Upper) and must be a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineering (NSE).

2.) Assistant Lecturer:
M.Sc or M.Eng in Civil Engineering and a B.Sc in Civil Engineering.
Candidate must be a registered member of NSE.

3.) Lecturer II:
Ph.D in Civil Engineering, M. Sc or M.Eng in Civil Engineering.
Candidate must be a member of NSE

4.) Lecturer I:
Ph.D in Civil Engineering, M.Sc or M.Eng in Civil Engineering.
Candidate must be a member of NSE.

5.) Senior Lecturer:
Ph.D in Civil Engineering, M.Sc or M.Eng in Civil Engineering, B.Sc in Civil Engineering.
Must be a member of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN and Nigeria Society of Engineering (NSE).

6.) Professor:
Ph.D in Civil Engineering, M.Eng or M.Sc and B.Sc in Civil Engineering.
Candidate must be a member of COREN and NSE.
