Job Title: Centre Manager
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide over at line management of the Centre staff and oversight of all operational, administrative and financial activities at the Centre
- Represent the Centre at all required meetings and related events
- Identify sources of funding and develop strategies for accessing funds
- Ensure administrative, financial systems are in place for effective management of the Centre
- Provide guidance and oversight to all services provided to clients and their families at the Centre. This includes helping to ensure that best practices are observed in all aspects of service delivery, which includes confidentiality, informed consent, providing relevant information, respecting clients’ choices, and so forth, and other best practices in responding to clients.
- University Degree, preferably in health, social work, social services, community development, or related fields.
- Able to work independently, multi-task, and take initiative, but also able to delegate responsibilities, harness team efforts, and ask for help as needed.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with different groups and stakeholders in strengthening referral pathways and coordination, and raising awareness about gender based violence and the Centre.
- Able to manage resources effectively and efficiently.
- At least 4 years experience in managing an office or service delivery agency. This includes experience in managing the financial, logistical and administrative aspects.
- At least 2 years experience in managing a multi-disciplinary staff team, inclusive of both technical and administrative personnel.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of gender-based violence, and the principles of providing quality service delivery for GBV clients.
- Ability to plan in advance and maintain an organized working style, yet able to handle new events and situations effectively as they arise. Able to work calmly and lead teams successfully in stressful and sometimes chaotic situations.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure proper documentation of all clients complete with at required forms and documents
- Collate client data into the Data Management System and assist with data collation and reports as required and requested.
- Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; verifying receipt of supplies and requisitioning in line with office procedure Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling or repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques

- Knowledge of gender-based violence issues in the Lagos context

Specific Responsibilities
- Provide all immediate assessments, treatment and health care to clients as needed and requested. Provide follow-up medical care, treatment, and support as needed.
- Assist the contracted doctors with conducting medical/forensic examinations as needed and requested by the client.
- Assist with any other medical follow up that may be required for legal procedures, and help ensure that medical certificates are delivered to the appropriate agencies in a timely manner.
- Help refer and support clients to access additional health care that may not be provided at the Centre, such as family planning services, other medical care, etc.
- Manage and oversee the centre pharmacy and medical supplies
- A degree in nursing or similar qualification in nursing
- At least 3 years experience in the direct provision of examinations, treatment, and care services to women and children including clients of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other forms of gender-based violence.
- Substantial knowledge and/or practical experience in health and medical issues pertaining to gender based violence response, and in the provision of appropriate care for clients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of providing quality service delivery for clients of gender-based violence in various settings and circumstances.
- Experience engaging constructively with diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels in a participatory, inclusive manner to address issues that may be viewed as sensitive or controversial with respect to traditional socio-cultural beliefs and practices.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide quality assessment, case management, counselling, referral and follow up services at all times to clients
- Provide initial crisis intervention counselling to clients as requested and needed. Provide support to the client during medical examinations and other procedures as requested.
- Work with the client to develop a plan for her next steps that is in line with her own choices, available options, and existing situation.
- Provide basic support and guidance to family members to help them provide ongoing support to the clients at home and during the recovery process, according to the situation.
- Provide support where feasible to clients requesting support for legal follow up.
- Conduct follow up with relevant service providers to which referrals were made.
- Help to monitor quality of service provision through regular feedback from clients and their families on services provided through feedback session, surveys, and other activities.
- A university degree in counselling, social sciences or related field.
- At least 3 years experience in the direct provision of counselling or psychosocial support services to clients of gender-based violence, or alternatively adults & children in similar circumstances.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of providing quality service delivery for clients of gender-based violence in various settings and circumstances.
- Experience engaging constructively with diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels in a participatory, inclusive manner to address issues that may be viewed as sensitive or controversial with respect to traditional socio-cultural beliefs and practices.
- Excellent listening and observation skills; ability to create a space of trust, support, respect, and confidentiality with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to engage constructively with diverse groups and individuals at various levels, from community groups to government line ministries.
- Strong knowledge of gender-based violence issues in the Lagos context, the impacts of violence on clients, and best practices for providing support to clients.
- Able to work independently, multi-task, and take initiative, but also able to ask for help as needed.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with different groups and stakeholders in strengthening referral pathways and coordination, and raising awareness about GBV.
- Basic computer skills (word, excel, email, etc)
Experience/qualification
- 5 years experience as a professional driver
- A valid drivers’ license is compulsory
- Ability to read and write
- At least a secondary school level education
- Must have good knowledge of Lagos roads
