The Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) was
established in 1992 to support democratic practices and institutions in
developing democracies. WFD specialises in parliamentary strengthening and
political party development; works at national, regional and local levels;
and is uniquely placed to draw
directly on the expertise and involvement of the Westminster political parties.
WFD is sponsored by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and is accountable to Parliament for its expenditure. It contributes to the FCO’s aim of making ‘globalisation work for sustainable development in the UK and internationally by promoting democracy and the rule of law, good economic and environmental governance and security of long-term energy supply, measured by specific underlying targets,' but remains independent of government in setting its priorities and programmes.
WFD is currently recruiting for the following positions:
Programme Manager - based in Abuja, Nigeria
Programme Administrator and Finance Assistant (PAFA) - based in Abuja, Nigeria
Please click the Job Title links for more details. Note that applications for both these positions must be received by 5pm (GMT) Friday 12th April 2013.
Notes:
WFD does no provide any relocation support (international or regional) for any of its roles. Any relocation costs incurred will be the sole responsibility of the candidate, should they wish to pursue the position.
Due to the number of applications we receive, we regret that we are only able to contact short-listed candidates. If you have not been contacted within four weeks of the closing date, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion, but we thank you for your time and interest in working for WFD.
