Context/Scope :
Diageo Brands Nigeria Limited (DBN) is a recently formed In market company, set up to represent Diageo Spirit interests within Nigeria. Major competitors are Moet Hennessy, Distel, Jack Daniels and Pernod Ricard (just appointed CFAO as their agent for West Africa) and Heineken. Other competitors highly active in this market are Brown Forman, USL all operating through 3rd parties. The Diageo spirits portfolio has historically been distributed by an agent within West Africa. DBN has been set up to represent Diageo’s interests more directly and take back direct control of the marketing, selling and distribution of the Diageo spirits portfolio.
Financial: Net Sales Value £3m, Overheads £240k
Market Complexity: The Nigerian drinks market is relatively unsophisticated, but highly dynamic.There are an estimated +100k On Trade account
stockists of premium spirits. Off Trade accounts comprising of both formal &informal are over 200k outlets nationally Key account
management and attaining preferred partner status with these accounts is a priority.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
-Commercial Graduate Qualification – Business Related
-5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role, either within an FMCG environment
-Cross functional experience across commercial / marketing
-Comprehensive commercial and financial decision making experience including channel profitability and targeted trade investment
-A passion for luxury and reserve with an understanding of competitors, distributors and key customers: their businesses and their shoppers/consumers in the Reserve universe
