HB Rentals is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join their team. Summary  The Telecommunications Specialist will install, test, maintain, modify, and repair communication lines and equipment for network systems. They will serve as a liaison to the District, Network Support Technician, and clients providing support and expertise on all aspects of the company’s communication system. The most qualified candidate would be comfortable making general operational decisions in a “fast pace” environment. The right candidate should be a motivated self-starter with pride and professionalism in their work ethic. This person will have a general knowledge and understanding of customer relations and be comfortable interacting with customers one on one. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoot and program DRT systems, key systems and Very Small Aperture Satellite (VSAT) systems with minimal assistance. Troubleshoot/Interface with multi-plex applications (i.e. 2 or 4 Wire E & M, 2 Wire FXO, Radio Control Circuits, Ethernet, T-1’s). Conducts technical training. Performs computer operations, maintenance task; installing software and drivers, connecting peripherals. Conduct site surveys, plan and coordinate new and upgraded equipment. Responds to emergency calls in the event of a system failure. Performs QA/QC of installations; makes precision adjustments to equipment to ensure maximum operating efficiency. Installs and test LAN/WAN components. Installs and troubleshoots interconnect apparatuses (i.e. terminal blocks, jacks, computer interface, amphenol and RF connectors, etc.). Performs all District technical training. Assist Sales team with all communication initiatives. Multiplexing techniques. Communication protocol standards. Open System Interconnection (OSI) model. Principles of satellite communications. Signaling techniques. Networking concepts. Basic computer operation skills. Application of analog/digital test systems. Ability to research and apply specifications, instructions and standards in technical publications. Minimum Requirements   At least 2 years of hands on experience with communication equipment that both receives and transmits signals. Must be at least 21 years old in order to drive a company vehicle.
